Baked Apples with Goat Yogurt and Nuts

Baked Apples with Goat Yogurt and Nuts is a warm, spiced treat served over our Capretta Rich & Creamy Goat Yogurt. With toasted walnuts, maple syrup, and cinnamon, it’s a cozy and nourishing dessert that’s simple enough for any day of the week.

Ingredients

Baked Apples
4 gala apples
1/4 cup toasted walnuts
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon sea salt
⅛ teaspoon cloves

For Serving
4 cups Capretta Rich & Creamy Yogurt, for serving
½ cup toasted walnuts
Maple Syrup
Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375˚F.
  2. Cut a hole in the middle of the apples, leaving the bottom intact. Place about 1 tablespoon of the walnuts in the apple and top with 1/2 tablespoon cubed butter. Mix the maple syrup with the cinnamon, salt, and cloves the pour equal amounts into each apple.
  3. Pour enough water to fill the bottom of the pan with ½” of the water. Place in the oven and bake until the apples are tender around 45 minutes. Remove the apples from the oven and let cool slightly.
  4. Divide the yogurt into four bowls. Carefully cut the apples in half and place two halves in each bowl. Top with extra maple syrup and cinnamon before serving.
